What Is the Mindset of People Who Like to Belittle Others?

What is the mindset of people who like to belittle others?
Human nature is truth, goodness, and beauty. Anything that is not truth, goodness, and beauty consists of karmic obstructions and is pathological. Sometimes there is no need to dwell on it; simply keeping your distance is enough.
There are many different factors behind belittling others, such as:

  1. Inner collapse: the outward projection of self-attack, self-loathing, and anxiety;
  2. The NPD pattern: putting others down to draw energy and a sense of power from them;
  3. Envy and jealousy;
  4. The repetition of toxic relationship patterns, the intergenerational transmission of karmic obstructions, and the collective unconscious; even belittling itself can be a pursuit of a pathological kind of symbiosis and fusion.
    And so on—there is no single explanation that applies to all cases.
    Putting others down is clearly also an outward investment of libido, one that crosses boundaries. Often, a person's own libido is attacking inwardly, the self faces a crisis of dissociation, and the tension has to be projected outward.
    This destructive investment inevitably tends to seek out suitable people to bear it. So children who are accepting, offer unconditional love, and are full of energy often become victims. This is also why many environments mold and welcome personalities such as the “honest, agreeable person” who serves as a dumping ground for others' emotions.
